Troop 26 is sponsored by the Group Of Citizens, the community organization chartered by the National Boy Scouts Of America since 1939 for the purpose of carrying on the program of the Boy Scouts Of America in the town of Cromwell, Connecticut.  The Group Of Citizens is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization comprised of volunteers committed to promoting Boy Scouting in Cromwell.

Each year The Group Of Citizens organizes several events to raise funds to support Troop 26 programs and operating costs.
